Terry Wahls Protocol Seminar 2017

  • Cedar Rapids Marriott 1200 Collins Road Northeast Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402 United States (map)

I am honoured to speak at Terry Wahl's Protocol seminar in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA to help those suffering from chronic disease and autoimmune conditions to learn about the importance of a movement and physical activity prescription.

I'll be speaking on the following:

  • “The Case for Exercise”

This talk reviews the relationship between physical activity levels and our health.  You will learn what science has to say about the health benefits of adding more physical activity to your day. There are 10 specific unexpected benefits for adding more physical activity to your day.  It will be helpful to understand the why a lack of physical activity leads to worsening inflammation, atherosclerosis, accelerated ageing, and worsening medical problems.

  • “Neuroplasticity and Physical Activity”

Discusses the role of exercise and nerve growth factors and the brain and risk of brain and mental health issues.

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to repair and maintain itself.  This function is highly dependent upon hormonal balance.  Physical activity impacts the level of testosterone, oestrogen, and growth hormone.  In addition, physical activity impacts the level of nerve growth factors.  Brain cells are highly dependent upon the level of sex hormones, growth hormones and nerve growth factors.  You will learn how physical activity can optimise your brain’s ability to maintain and repair itself.

I'll also be taking some Primal Play sessions tailored to specific conditions.
